The Brazilian driver of Ombra Racing was very satisfied with his Auto GP debut: “I already feel at ease with the car, it’s really powerful and really great fun to drive, it rewards istinctive driving, something that suits my style a lot. Anyway I feel that there is still room for improvement, in the end I just had two sessions!”.
Pål Varhaug was third for Virtuosi UK just 0.04 adrift from Pizzonia, improving a lot his morning pace as well as 4th placed Daniel de Jong (1’12”960). The Dutchman was two tenths quicker than team-mate Chris Van der Drift, while P6 was taken by Max Snegirev, also on an improving trend. Giuseppe Cipriani followed his Campos Racing team mate with 1’14”628, just some hundredths quicker than Rafael Suzuki, again in the top ten. Sergio Campana ended the session in P9 with 1’15”428, but the session brought very bad news for him: halfway through the Practice the Italian driver crashed at the exit of the last corner, and the shunt resulted in heavy damage for his car: the Euronova crew is trying to fix it in time for Race 1 tomorrow, but Qualifying has already been ruled out. More bad news for the team came as Sergey Sirotkin didn’t take part in FP2 due to a gearbox issue.
